Orville Edward Abbott of 3503 North 22nd Street, Boulder, Colorado, passed away Monday May 14 at 10:30 P.M. at the Boulder Community Hospital after a long illness. He had been hospitalized three weeks. He and his son James operated the Boulder Refrigeration Service.
Born at Vail, Iowa, May 11, 1913 to Thomas and Barbara Freml Abbott; he was married to Elizabeth Houlihan in Charter Oak, Iowa, June 14, 1937. They moved to Boulder with their family in 1950. He was a popular square dance caller at Pleasant View Grange and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Charles and James of Boulder and Donald in the Navy in California, a daughter, Jane Marie at home; his mother Mrs. Barbara Abbott of Charter Oak, two brothers, Leonard of Charter Oak and Melvin of Dow City, and four sisters: Mrs. Leslie (Florence) Gary of Denison, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Hansen of Minnesota, Mrs. Raymond (Donna) Creese of Charter Oak, and Miss Barbara Ann Abbott of Charter Oak. A son William passed away at birth, October 22, 1961.
The Rosary was said Thursday at 7 P.M. at the Howe Mortuary and the Requiem High Mass was sung Friday at 9 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church.
Interment was in Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.-- GETH 36 - D -1
