Robert (Bob) Lee Ivancovich, 66 of Midland, TX, formerly of Visalia, passed away 8 May 2013.
Bob was born 13 Apr 1947 in Mojave, CA. He grew up with his brother George in the Ridgecrest, CA/China Lake, CA area. While at attending Burroughs HS, he played Varsity football and baseball. He graduated in 1965 and began pursuing his life-long passion for Criminology. In 1966, he entered the US Air Force. Bob served as a Security Forces member of the military police. After one tour in Viet Nam, Bob left the USAF as a Staff Sergeant. He continued his education and graduated in 1974 from California State University, Fresno, CA with a BS in Criminology. Due to his great success thus far, he was promptly hired by the United States Federal Marshall Service. Bob's job responsibilities covered many large well-known cases from "watergate" to "Ruby Ridge". After 27 years of dedication, Bob retired in 1997 as a Supervisor, Deputy U. S. Marshall. Bob shared his passion for criminology while teaching at several colleges. After 911, he pursued additional National Security Certification and continued security enforcement.
Bob was larger than life and embraced those he met with great love and a heart of gold. He loved Jesus and cherished his relationships with his family and friends. Bob especially cherished the bond he shared with the love of his life, Timothea Reese. They met in 1990 and after 4 weeks Bob proposed marriage to his beautiful new love. They were married in Harmony, CA on 1 un 1991 and remained happily married for 22 years.
Bob's hobbies were vast. One of his favorites was Pigeon Racing. He enjoyed many hours with the Odessa Pigeon Flying Club. Bob was also known for his amazing voice and guitar talent. He masterfully emulated Johnny Cash to win several Karaoke competitions over the years.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Melo and Ann Ivancovich and brother George Ivancovich.
He is survived by his loving wife Timothea of their home, their daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Brandon Pierce, two grandchildren, Adriana and Kierra Pierce of Fresno, CA, nephew and niece George and Rebecca Ivancovich, sister and brother-in-law Nora and Lynn Robison and family of Perryton, TX. Mother and father-in-law Don and Jan Sharp. He is also survived by many other cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
