Mr. Hoyt Monroe Stone age 81 of Smyrna, passed away Monday, May 20th.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday May 24th at Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with Rev. Barbara Hatchell officiating. Interment will be in the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
Mr. Stone was a longtime resident of Smyrna; he was a teamster over the road truck driver for over 45 years before retiring from Carolina Freight. He was a member of the Mableton Masonic Lodge #171. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a kind and loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are: His wife of over 60 years, Gloria Jane Stone of Smyrna, Children – Sherry Thompson of Douglasville, Donnie Lee of Mableton, Terri Welchel of Marietta, Sister-Jean McBride of Buford, 6 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, May 23rd and 12 to 2 PM Friday, May 24th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna (770) 435-4467. www.carmichaelfuneralhomes.com
