She was born October 3, 1925 in Brookston to the late Frank E. and Ethel E. Brown. They both died at an early age and Betty was raised in Brookston by her late Grandma Sarah Frances Elston.
Her marriage was to Ralph E. Tyrie on December 12, 1946 in Lafayette. He died April 28, 2002.
Mrs. Tyrie was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Later in life she worked at O'Rears Bakery for many years.
Betty loved spending time with her family, working on her computer and playing Euchre.
Surviving is her son, David Tyrie (wife: Lora) of Bloomington; her grandson, Barry E. Tyrie of Auburn, Washington; her granddaughter, Melody J. Bailey (husband: Keith) of Garden Grove, California and her great-grandchildren, Harrison, Emma, Kameron and Karter.
Graveside services 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Battle Ground Cemetery; Pastor Jim Chase to officiate.
