FRANCIS J. SOOY, 76, of Bridgeton, died Thursday at South Jersey Hospital-Bridgeton.
Mr. Sooy worked for 40 years at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. He was also an operator of B & F Ceramics. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church and was a member and treasurer of the Eager Beaver Radio Club. His interests included woodworking.
Born in Bridgeton, Mr. Sooy lived there all his life.
Surviving are his wife, Beulah; a daughter, Carole Johnson of Hopewell Township; three sons, Michael of Vineland and Dennis and Robert, both of Hopewell Township; a sister, Dorothy Lloyd of Seabrook; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 46 Central Ave., Bridgeton. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton. Friends may call before services Wednesday at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.
