Eugene Haskell Blaylock was born on September 18, 1914, in Muldrow, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Lawrence Andrew and Lillian "Lillie" May (Howard) Blaylock. Eugene spent his early childhood in Oklahoma, but by 1930 the family had relocated to San Bernardino, California, where he lived the remainder of his life.
