LCpl Vincent James Agius, United States Marine Corps. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1964 and began working at the Fisher Body Plant. On June 23, 1966, he chose to enlist in the Marine Corps. He was a machine gunner, serving with D Co, 1st BN, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III MAF and left for Vietnam on December 5, 1966. His company saw considerable action there, with half of them being wounded or killed. On April 9, 1967, he was seriously wounded in action in the Quang Tri Providence, South Vietnam, and transported to Clark Air Force Base hospital for treatment. He passed away from those wounds there on April 17. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Irma Konrad; his father; a brother; five sisters; and his grandparents. Vincent's father had served in WWII and was held as a POW in a German prison camp for two years. Vincent is honored on Panel 18E, Row 38 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
