Draper, Paul Frederick

Paul Frederick Draper beloved husband and soul mate of Lorene, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2004 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Unit 47 Palliative Care Ward, at the age of 73 years. His battle with cancer lasted nearly two years, but was fought with dignity, courage, and determination, until he decided enough was enough.

Paul was born on August 23, 1930 in London, England. He did his British National Service and after obtaining his accreditation in optical dispensing he joined his brother Joe in business for sixteen years in London. In June 1974 Paul came to Calgary and married Lorene on June 29, 1974; worked for Calgary Transit for 25 years; retired and enjoyed his retirement – golfing, gardening, and conversing with family and friends. During Paul's years in Canada he was a member of Jordan Lodge 177 and an active member of the British Pensioners Association of Western Canada.

Paul, a gentle and loving husband, will be missed so very much by his wife Lorene and his "best friend" Kasey. Paul is also survived and greatly missed by his sister Maureen; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joe and Julie, Stan and Kay, Les, and Douglas; two nieces Sue and Debbie and their families; and two nephews Gary and Kevin and their families. Paul will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law Arnold and Gail, Ian and Eileen, Donald and Violette and their families; his extended families on both sides of the Atlantic were his pride and joy. Paul was predeceased by his mother and father, Lillian and Joseph; and his sister Iris.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
