Son of Jacob Brown West Sr. and Virginia (Dolly) Jones. We knew him as Uncle Ras. He and Aunt Beadie lived across the road from our family when I was a small child. He first married Mary Darkis Cooper West, on Oct. 1, 1905 in Wayne Co., Ms., he married second Nancy Ann Newsome on Aug. 14, 1911 in Wayne Co., Ms., his third wife was Aunt Beadie Gatlin Williams West. My sister Patricia and I would visit them lots of times and would sit on that big front porch and visit with Uncle Ras and Aunt Beadie. We always enjoyed visiting with them. Uncle Ras died of throat Cancer. Aunt Beadie died in 1976 and was buried in the Yellow Creek Cemetery, Wayne County, MS with her first husband, John Dan (J.D.) Williams.
