Tilford Blair, a longtime Stillwater resident, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Sterling House in Stillwater at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery , Stillwater.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.
Tilford was born on Nov. 23, 1926, in Stillwater, to the late Loren J. and Maudie Lee (White) Blair. He grew up and attended school in Stillwater , graduating from Stillwater High School.
After high school, he entered the U. S. Navy serving his country in World War II. After returning from the service, Tilford married the love of his life LaDell F. Hadley on July 11, 1947, in Payne County.
He worked as a locksmith at Oklahoma State University at the Physical plant for 40 years.
They were members of the First United Methodist Church . He enjoyed fishing, hunting and wildlife. Tilford loved spending time at his farm, raising a garden that was large enough to share with all of his neighbors. He also planted fruit trees surrounding their back yard which he also shared. Tilford loved spending time with his family.
Tilford is survived by his wife of 65 years LaDell of the home, sons Gary Blair and William Blair both of Stillwater, grandchildren Kelli Jasso, Trisha Bays , Keith Blair, Helmer Blair and Erin Blair, great-grandchildren Ronnie Wilkins, Rebel Connell and Dakota Jasso.
Tilford was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Eva M. Stich and Helen Watson and an infant brother.
