Obituary-
Wilbur Lee "Pat" Hunter, 92, died Oct. 23 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs, after a battle with cancer.

Graveside services with military honors will be Monday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hay Springs Cemetery.
Wilbur 'Pat' Hunter was born April 18, 1917 to Lee and Effie (Richardson) Hunter at the home place, north of Hay Springs. Pat attended school #18 in the Hunter District and then graduated from Hay Springs High School.

He married Clarabel Brownell on August 10, 1938 in Hot Springs, S.D.

He loved and worked with horses and mules most of his life. He worked as a plumber for many years.

Pat served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion.

=Survivors include: his son Wendell (Lennie Jo) Hunter of Hay Springs, daughter Sally (Keith) Nollette of Alliance, grandchildren Vince (Donna) Hunter of Mitchell; Curtis Hunter of Hay Springs, Jim (Susan) Nollette of Alliance, Sean (Misty) Nollette of Alliance, Abbie (Ted) Gasseling of Alliance, Michele (Mike) Long of Hemingford, 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Hunter of Rushville.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, wife Clarabel, brother Bernard Hunter, sister Madge Belknap, and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial has been established for the Hay Springs American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Drabbels Mortuary, PO Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.
