Nancy was born in 1848 in Bates City, Layfayette, Missouri, the daughter of Emanuel and Kissiah (Hartsell) Lamon. Nancy died in 1880 in Bates City.

Nancy married William "Bill" Williams when she was 15 years old and of this union five children were born.
They were: Alda Jackson "Jack", Joseph, William Edward, Thomas Elmer and Francis C. "Frank".

Joseph was a deaf mute from having scarlet fever as a young child which caused him to lose his hearing. He was raised by his grandfather, Joseph, after the death of his father. Joe went to Alaska and worked as a camp cook. Joseph may have gone hiking in the woods, which he did frequently, and froze to death. Place and date of death is unknown It is also possible that he may have been attacked by wild animals or run into some other problem that led to his death.

After Bills death Nancy married Charles Potts who was 61 years old. She and Charles had three children together. Charles had several children from his previous marriage.

Both Nancy and Charles died in 1880 of typhoid. Nancy died on Christmas Eve and her children were adopted by the Williams, Lamon, McRoberts and Newman families.
