1885 NJ Census shows him in the city of Camden with Caroline and Verna. Possibly this is where he left farming for the retail butcher business. 1905 NJ Census shows him in Atlantic City with Caroline and Alice, age 18. Verna has married by now and made Edwin a grandfather.
1915 NJ Census shows him in Woodbury with only his 2nd wife. She is listed as Frances D. Kirby, although her name is Francena in other sources. Alice married and moved out in early 1915.
