HOLYOKE - Marie F. "Ferne" (Mailloux) Kelly, 95, of Holyoke, died on Monday, May 6 2013 at the Holyoke Soldier's Home. She was born in Saint Valentine, Canada, daughter of the late John Mailloux and Doria (Ethier) Mailloux Brunet and received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Boston University. A Registered Nurse, Marie taught the L.P.N. Course at Dean Technical High School in Holyoke for many years. She was a United States Army Nurse Corps Veteran of World War II, a member of Cursillo and the Pro Life Movement. Marie is survived by her beloved husband, William A. Kelly, a son James M. Kelly of Chicopee, a daughter Mary Beth Kelly of Holyoke, two grandchildren, Andy Kelly and wife Christina and Erin Cubi, two great grandchildren: Danyelle Cubi and Donevin Cubi, two sisters: Simone Laramee of Belchertown and Laurette Brunet of Florida. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass in Our Lady of the Cross Church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Massachusetts Citizens for Life, PO Box 96, Ludlow MA 01056.
