He served 9 years in the 82nd airborne ,and was in north korea,during the cold war.. he received the army of occupation medal ww2 w/japan clasp..world war 2 victory medal...and the meritorious service unit emblem , he love to customize old cars, he belonged to satan angel car club in the 50es, and could really restore an old car to perfection,and he love to listen to jazz. and he loved all sports, especially his team the san francisco 49ers.he said before joe montana was quarter back for the 49ers, that he is going to be the best quarter back that ever lived,some would no agree with that, but he was the greatest!!you could not talk to him when they were playing, all of a sudden he lost his hearing, and after the game regained it again!!
he did body and fender repair for years in pleasanton. but he always wanted to drive truck, and he did until the day he passed, he was a very hard worker, always doing things for his family, he was a very loved father of 7 grown children, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great granddaughter.every time a big rig passes by they always wave as if there dad was behind that big wheel.i think as long as there is a big wheel on the highway, there memory for there dad will be as strong as the final days he drove his 18 wheeler....he will be love until the end of time!!!! well gordy your youngest son eric is going to be a father!! 13 grandchildren is a lucky number!!!and 3 great grandaughters...update!! eric girl friend gaby. had a son on the 20th of aug,2007. your youngest son is now a proud father!!!
