James Allen Lake, age 70, of Straight Mountain went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2013. Born in Blount County he was the son of the late David Vester and Lillian Clara Lake. Mr. Lake served in the United States Army and was a Vietman War Veteran. He retired as an Inspector with the Transportation Department of the Jefferson County Board of Education and was a member of World Outreach Center.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Rebecca Duncan and brother, Melvin Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Lake of Straight Mountain; daughters, Darlene Tucker (Dewayne) of Horton and Christine Neely (Joshua) of Straight Mountain; grandchildren, Rebekah Pearce and Amanda Neely; sisters, Martha Egan (Buddy) of Highland Lake, Brenda Brothers (Mike) of Gallant, Judy Reeves (Donald) and Barbara Cornelius (Bart) both of Oneonta; and brothers, Donald Lake (Janet) and Mike Lake (Ruth) both of Straight Mountain.
Pastor Don McDonald and Pastor Frankie Powell will officate funeral services on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 2PM from the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home with burial following at Straight Mountain Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lake will lie in state at Lemley Funeral Home on Friday from 12 Noon until service time.
Pallbearers: Ronnie Lake, Jeffrey Lake, Donald Reeves, David Egan, Parker Brooks and Tim Lake.
Honorary Pallbearer: David Phillips and Dewayne Tucker.
