Sarah Stephens was the wife of William Stephens. They had 9 children:

The Stephens family also known as Stevens and Stevans, were farmers living in Jackson County, Tennessee in 1850, migrated to Smith Mills near Henderson, Kentucky and on to Carmi or Enfield Township, White County, Illinois by 1870.

Sarah was buried in Jarrell's Cemetery later renamed Bruce Chapel, part of the Bruce Chapel Methodist Church. William's gravesite is unknown, but there are several stones missing from the Stephens plot. It is possible that is he also buried there.

Bruce Chapel Cemetery is located on the north side at 681 Highway 14, Carmi Township, White County, Illinois. N38.9204 W088.23788e It has no known connection with Bingman Station, a former gas station removed in 2012.
