James ''Jim" Keith Adams, 63, of Saunooke Road, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at his home. A native of Byas. W.Va., he was the son of the late James Bruce and Elitha Lowe Adams. He was a member and Past Master of Swannanoa Masonic Lodge 561 A.F. & A.M., and a member and Past Patron of the Black Mountain Order of Eastern Star. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte. After his retirement from the Asheville VA Medical Center, he worked in security at Highland Farms Health Caren Center. He was a former chief and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Swannanoa Volunteer Fire Dept. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Fox, and his granddaughter, Katelynn. He was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. He had many friends that loved him in Cherokee. Mr. Adams loved his family and community, and was a very devoted father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Oakley Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Pierce and Mr. Jerry Leatherwood officiating. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Park. Masonic graveside services will bs conferred by Swannanoa Masonic Lodge 1561 AF. & AM. The lodge will open at 1 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Swannanoa Volunteer Fire Dept. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm. Wednesday at Brigman's Funeral Service, Black Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Swannanoa Volunteer Fire Department, and/or Shriner Hospital, Greenville S.C
