Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Pierre Dalton "Cat" Broussard, 83, who died on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana surrounded by his family.

Entombment will be in St. Aphonsus Mausoleum in Maurice.

Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Meaghan Broussard and Ashlynn Duhon. Musical selections will be "Be Not Afraid," "The Old Rugged Cross," "Amazing Grace," and "In The Garden."

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 61 years, Vivian Patin Broussard; two daughters, Debbie Dartez and her husband, Roger and Sharon Duhon and her husband, Bradley; one son, Michael Carl Broussard and his wife, Debra all natives of Maurice, LA; two sisters, Loula Mae B. Turner and long-time companion, Lloyd Mire of Kaplan, LA and Mary Aline Foreman and her husband, Eldes of Maurice, LA; five grandchildren, Blaine Broussard, Jess Broussard, Meaghan Broussard, Ashlynn Duhon and Kelsi Duhon; five great grandchildren, Sophi Broussard, Lyla-Grace Broussard, Brooklyn Broussard, Briley Granger and Nora Broussard, Camrin Hebert and Lunden Hebert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Adona Simon Broussard of Maurice, LA; his great grandparents, Oliver and Azelima Duhon Broussard and Pierre and Agila Simon; two brothers, Jean Isaac Broussard and Pierre Wilton Broussard; and three sisters, Anna May Broussard, Lilly Mae Broussard and Elexsena B. LeBlanc.

Pierre Dalton Broussard was born in Maurice, Louisiana on July 19, 1929 and remained a lifelong native until his passing. He was 18 years old when he joined the National Guard, and became a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic Sergeant in the 156th Service Company. Following his time in the guard, Mr. Broussard went to work for Lawford Brothers, J.I. Roberts and Power Rig. He was a long-time farmer of beans, rice, cotton, wheat and milo and also worked as a brush cutter for the Vermilion Parish Police Jury. Mr. Broussard also worked for many years as a bartender for Wade's Restaurant. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Jess Broussard, Kelsi Duhon, Blaine Broussard, Raymond Montet, Ralph Montet and Perry Turner.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
