"Mrs. Eliza Kiplinger died Nov. 13, of gangrene on the foot, at the home of her son, Cornelius Kiplinger, in Manchester. She moved with her family to this place about 30 years ago. About one-third of this time she resided in Akron. Perhaps no other person who lived in the path of the cyclone which visited the city of Akron several years ago {May 14, 1890} was so badly Injured as this lady. From these injuries she suffered until she became a helpless invalid. She was the daughter of Jacob Hartong, who came to Green township from Pennsylvania about 75 years ago."
