LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Lonnie F. Keane, 69, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of St. Paul, died April 7, 2013, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 310 W. Pacific Ave., at Henderson, Nev. Burial will be at 12 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Marcy.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori Homolka and her fiance, Clarence Harris, of Leavenworth, Kan., and LeAnn Schultz and her husband, Kurt Schultz, of Lincoln; three stepchildren and their spouses, Pat and Connie Powell of Stromsburg, Lora and Adolfo De La Mora of Chicago, Ill., and Jillian and James Byrd of Wagoner, Okla.; and by one brother, James Keane of Grand Island.

Also surviving are three granddaughters, Amanda Pecor of St. Paul, and Ashley and Emma Schultz of Lincoln; two grandsons, Russell Homolka Jr. of Grand Island, and Conor Schultz of Lincoln; three great-grandchildren, CJ, Mikayla, and Beau Pecor, all of St. Paul; four stepgrandchildren, McKenna and Owen Powell of Stromsburg, and Deven and Nathanial Byrd of Wagoner, Okla.; and a special friend, Connie Hyde of Hastings.

Lonnie is a 1961 graduate of Coachella Valley High School in Coachella, Calif., and a 1963 graduate of the U.S. Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill. He served as a machinist's mate fireman in the U.S. Navy until May, 1964, when he retired due to a disability.

Lonnie married Lorraine Peters in 1964. Of this union, two daughters, Lori and LeAnn, were born.

He served as police chief of Boelus, as a police sergeant of St. Paul, and as the County Civil Defense Deputy Director in Howard County. In later years, he was the owner of Keane's Photography in St. Paul.

He married Marcella "Marcy" Coon in 1985. They moved to Arizona in 1986, and eventually on to Nevada, where they planned to retire and travel the country in their RV.

He retired from his job as security shift manager at Casino Pauma in Pauma Valley, Calif., in 2008. At the time of his death, he was a trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Henderson, Nev.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, the Jaycees, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Venus Kalinski, and his wife, Marcy.
