Christopher Kit "Buddy" Bailey Jr., 78, of 192 Snake Road, died Dec. 1, 2005, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church, the Rev. Tony Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

Bailey was born Oct. 20, 1927, in Lumberton to Christopher Kit Bailey Sr. and Retter Grant Bailey. He served his country in post-World War II Japan. Upon his return, he worked as a truck driver and retired in 1990 after 47 years of accident-free service. He was an avid woodworker and donated much of his time and talent to his church, Trinity Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member.

His family said: "He will be remembered for his faith in God, his devotion to family and his generosity to his fellow man."

Surviving are his wife, Gale Bailey of the home; two sons, Roger Bailey and Cliff Bailey, both of Lumberton; two daughters, Connie Graves of Thomasville and Lisa Sayne of Charlotte; two brothers, Martin Bailey of South Mills and Mackie Bailey of Zuni, Va.; a sister, Katheryn Feltrup of Lumberton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
