According to notes from several different descendants, this is the same John Burch who appeared in Pittsylvania Co., VA, ca 1768. He was not in the tithe list of 1767, so he must have been living elsewhere before then.

John M. Burch was a Sergeant under the command of Col. James Livingston for the Virginia Continental Line during the Revolutionary War. His sons, Thomas and William also fought. Above mentioned granddaughter has their Revolutionary War Records.
