Silas Marion Crain was born 3 July, 1877 in Sikeston, Scott, Missouri. Silas was the son of John W Crain and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lowder. On 24 October, 1901, Silas married his first wife Minnie Viola Hartline, daughter of Henry Hartline & Eliza Gambill. After Aunt Minnie died, Uncle Silas married his second wife Dura Mayfield Johnson.Dura was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Johnson and she was born 24 August, 1877. Dura was first married to George Kitchens, upon his death she married Uncle Silas.
Silas first wife Minnie was the sister of John Newman Hartline and John N Hartline married Silas half sister, Alice May Johnson. Alice and John Hartline were my Great Grandparents.Alice Johnson and Silas Marion Crain had the same mother, Elizabeth Lizzie Lowder. After John W Crain died, Grandmother Elizabeth married her second husband Isaac W Johnson of Duck Creek, Stoddard, Missouri. Issac was the son of Abner Johnson and Lucinda Gailey.Silas Marion Crain died 27 Oct 1942 in Parma, New Madrid, Missouri
