On 24 October, 1901, Silas married his first wife Minnie Viola Hartline, daughter of Henry Hartline & Eliza Gambill. After Aunt Minnie died, Uncle Silas married his second wife Dura Mayfield Johnson.Dura was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Johnson and she was born 24 August, 1877. Dura was first married to George Kitchens, upon his death she married Uncle Silas.
