Raymond Joseph Avery, 84, of San Diego died Wednesday. He was born in Detroit and was an insurance administrator for General Motors. Mr. Avery served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion and was a volunteer for the San Diego Public Library.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail Short of Poway; son, Michael Avery of Burbank; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Viewing: 1 to 2 p.m. tomorrow, St. John's Episcopal Church, 760 First Ave., Chula Vista.
Services: 2 p.m. tomorrow at the church.
Interment: 1 p.m. Monday, Greenwood Memorial Park, Interstate 805 and Imperial Avenue, San Diego.
