BYARD, James L. - Age 70, of Marco Island, Florida died at his home on February 19, 2005. Jim was born and raised in the Detroit area and was employed by General Motors. He moved to Flint and worked for GM at the Coldwater Plant for many years. Jim retired from GM as a Quality Engineer in 1996. Jim is survived by his wife, Marlene and son Alan of the home; three grown children, Larry Byard, Christine Morea, and Cheryl Glidden; three stepchildren, Jim Flowers, Brenda Flowers and Debbie Flowers; his mother, Ellen Webb; one brother, Aaron Byard; two sisters, Phyllis Adams and Paula Byard; four grandchildren, Kristen, Anthony and Nicholas Byard and Samantha Glidden; and a host of family and friends. Jim was an avid reader, loved golf, boating, bowling, and playing cards. He battled ALS for many years with determination and dignity. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, church, and community.
