"Betty Jane Taylor, 70, of Akron, died June 5 after a short illness. Born Nov. 6, 1920 in Follansbee, W. Va., she had lived in the Greensburg and Firestone Park areas for most of her life. She was the first PTA president of the Greensburg School, a member of the South Akron Church of Christ, and was a church organist for Greensburg United Methodist Church and South Akron Church of Christ for many years.
Preceded in death by husband, Clifford, in 1989, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Alice Jean and Ronnie Younkin of Akron... sons and daughters-in-law... grandchildren... great-grandchildren... brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Brooks and Helen Taylor, Alfred and Margaret Taylor; nieces... nephew... cousin... and number three daughter... Calling hours will be Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Route 619). Funeral service Saturday, 2 p.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Donald Hodges and Rev. James A. Herbst officiating. Interment at Greensburg Cemetery."
