"William H. Simmons, 72, of 1049 Applegrove rd. NW died today at his residence. Born in West Virginia, Mr. Simmons lived in North Canton for 36 years. He was a retired self-employed mason contractor and attended the Greensburg Church of God. He leaves his wife, Mary; daughters, Mrs. Wanda Dunham, Portland, Mrs. Wilma Brewbacker, Comet, Mrs. Mary Taylor, Old Washington, and Mrs. Cora Frederick, Manchester; sons, William, at home, Ernest, North Canton, Forest, Barberton, and Jesse, Akron; sisters, Mrs. Nonie Simmons, Lewisburg, W. and Mrs. Alice Simmons, Riddle, brother, Charles Simmons, London, 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Lewis-Karlo and Sons funeral home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Greensburg cemetery."
