"Hetzer H. Smith, 72 years, of 176 Fulmer av., passed away April 3 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born in Hoy, W. Va. and lived in the Akron area for over 50 years. He had worked for 25 years as an engineer on the A.C. Y. Railroad and retired in 1971. Also formerly worked at General Tire & Rubber Co. Survived by wife, Margaret M., sister, Mrs. Suda Bennett of West Virginia; brothers, Hugh of Randolph, Kenneth of Ravenna, several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Brotherhood of R.R.T. and Local No.9. He was a member of Akron Baptist Temple. Funeral services Monday 11 a.m. at the Eckard-Baldwin Funeral Home, Dr. James D. Moore and Rev. Howard D. Powell officiating. Interment Greensburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."
