(Jimmie) DeLong in 1895 in Kingston, Mo. He had 6 children: Harry H. Wheat, Madge M. Wheat, James Curtis Wheat, Howard H. Wheat, Edward McKinley Wheat and Zachariah D. Wheat.

His full sisters were Stella Wheat, Nora J Wheat, Cora M. Wheat (my great grandmother), Henrietta Wheat, and Maude Wheat. His father, Basil Curtis Wheat, remarried, after Mary's death, to Julia Davis Scott. This marriage gave James Overstreet Wheat these half brothers: Zachariah Davis Wheat (the hall-of-fame baseball player), McKinley Davis Wheat and Basil Curtis Wheat.
