Wayne Daily Creason died following a long illness Friday August 5, 2011 in his home with his family by his side, at the age of 85. He was born December 10, 1925 in Kokomo, Indiana to Daily and Edna (James) Creason. He married Bertha Jean Schenk September 9, 1955 in Cass City. She died May 11, 2011. Wayne farmed with his family before joining the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Yuma, Arizona, working as a builder hauling rock to fill the area for a three-mile airstrip for practice aircraft landings. Wayne also worked as military Police while in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service he worked with a private installer installing home furnaces in the Saginaw area. Wayne then worked for General Motors at the Grey Iron Foundry as a pipefitter for more than 13 years working seven days a week. He started the Malzohn Street Southern Baptist Church in Saginaw, serving many positions including Deacon and Assistant Pastor. Wayne also enjoyed deer hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Creason; brothers Thomas Creason, Alfred Creason, Frank Creason and sisters Pauline Mills and Adeline Winchester.
