Mrs. Margaret Hill Haddock, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Haddock was born on April 13, 1930 in Pitt County. She graduated from Pactolus High School as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education after high school and became a Registered Nurse. For many years, she worked as a nurse at various places, including, Woodard Herring Hospital in Wilson. She was Head Nurse at the State School for the Blind and Deaf from 1953 – 1957, she also worked for the Walter B. Jones Center in Greenville. She was a member of the National and State Local Nurses Association. Margaret was an avid reader, bird watcher, and loved traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman E. Hill and Julia A. Harper; two brothers, Richard and Charles Hill. She is survived by her spouse, Alton Haddock.
