Jack L. West, 88, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 8, 2013. He was born June 1, 1924 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to John and Nellie West.

Jack was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp and flew B-17s, B-25s, and B-29s during WWII. He was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and was the first President of the Lions Club in West Lafayette, Ohio. Jack was an avid hiker, loved the outdoors, traveling and had an adventurist zest for life. He had a great affection for his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his parents, his sons, Lewis West and John West. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary West of Hot Springs Village; daughter, Ann Lipe of Germantown, Tennessee; son, Kurt West (Kristi) of Juneau, Alaska; grandchildren, LTJG Douglas Lipe, USN (Major Rebecca Lipe, USAF), Lauren Lipe and Jesse West; brothers-in-law, Roger Ridenour and Robert Ridenour (Mary Lou); and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Dr. Walter Smith officiating. Internment will be in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio at a later date.
