Daughter of Bart (Frederick Albertus) Michael and wife Alice Jeanette Baker Michael who farmed in Ijamsville, Frederick Co., MD. Born 1 June 1883, died 4 Feb 1968 from complications of a broken hip (she had osteoporosis). I have so many fond memories of her. She canned everything she could get her hands on--she'd have canned a skunk but she couldn't figure out how to get it into a jar! She made the best noodle soup in the world--I just wish I knew how she made the noodles! Her house in Ijamsville was always the hang-out for the neighborhood kids, she always had ice cream in the freezer, cookies in the cupboard and strawberry Kool-Aid in the fridge. She saved every LIFE magazine she'd ever gotten so the kids would have something to look at on days when they couldn't play outside, and there was always paper, pencils and crayons somewhere in case they wanted to draw. She was the perfect grandmother!
