Corporal, June 19, 1861, at Fort Wayne, for 3 years, age 18. Mustered
Aug. 28, 1861. Sergeant Nov. 11, 1861. Commissioned Second Lieu-
tenant June 1, 1862. Mustered Jan. 17, 1863. Commissioned First
Lieutenant, company F, July 12, 1862. Mustered Jan. 1, 1863. Com-
missioned Captain, company D, June 25, 1863. Mustered June 9, 1864.
Discharged at expiration of term of service Oct. 31, 1864. Was in the
following battles: Yorktown, Williamsburg, Fair Oaks, Peach Orch-
ard, Malvern Hill, Glendale, Charles City Cross Roads, Manassas,
Chantilly, Fredericksburg, Cedars, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and
Wapping Heights.

DR. JAMES O. GUNSOLLEY, physician and surgeon, Terraville. He came to Rockerville in spring of 1878, and to Deadwood in January, 1879. He was born in Clinton County, Michigan, in July, 1839; was educated at Ann Arbor, Mich., at the College of Physicians and Surgeons graduating in 1866, and has since practiced his profession. In February, 1879, he established a hospital at Terraville for miners, and conducted the same a number of years.
