Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie M. Franklin, 80, of Pittsfield were held in the Ward Funeral chapel in Pleasant Hill at 2 Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Joe Maynard officiating. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery.

Mrs. Franklin died in Illini hospital in Pittsfield, Saturday, Dec. 7, 1968 at 10 a.m. She was born in Pleasant Hill township July 29, 1888, a daughter of A. F. and Sarah Annie (Hemphill) McConnell. She was married to S. G. Franklin in Bowling Green, MO, on Sept. 14, 1914. They lived in Pleasant Hill township until six years ago when they moved to Pittsfield. She had been in ill health for three years.

Surviving are the husband; a son, Roy Franklin, of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Genevieve) Vogel of Bowling Green; two brothers, Mitchell McConnell of Pittsfield and Cecil McConnell of Troy, MO; a sister, Mrs. Alice Kelly of Pittsfield; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ed Franklin (1916–1963).
