Member of a distinguished Montreal family, Mrs. A.E. Ogilvie died yesterday after a brief illness, at her summer residence near Cartierville.
Greatly esteemed for her charm of personality by all who knew her, Mrs. Ogilvie interested herself generously in philanthropies and in causes concerned with the welfare of young people.  She was a member of the district council of the Montreal Association of Girl Guides, a movement whose progress she did much to promote.
A social service agency in which Mrs. Ogilvie was particularly interested was the Girls' Cottage Industrial School at Sweetsburg.  For many years she was a member of the board of management.
Mrs. Ogilvie, formerly Miss Caro Brainerd, daughter of the late Dr. T.C. Brainerd, of this city, was born in Montreal* and resided here all her life.  She was a member of the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul.
Surviving Mrs. Ogilvie are her husband, A.E. Ogilvie; three sons, W.W., B.M, and Ian Ogilvie; four brothers, Dwight, Winthrop and H.W. Brainerd, of Montreal, and H.B. Brainerd, of Dover, Mass., and a sister, Miss A.B. Brainerd, of Montreal, also three grandchildren.
