"Charles A. East, M.D., 74, of Uniontown, passed away Sept. 5, 1996 after a long illness. Mr. East was a graduate of Green High School, Kent State University and the University of Cincinnati Medical School. He was a physician in the Akron area for over 40 years, retiring in 1993. He managed the Emergency Department at St. Thomas Hospital. He was a member of the Ohio State Medical Association, American Medical Association, and the Summit County Medical Association, where he was the president in 1974. He attended Clearview United Methodist Church, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Army Medical Corps. He is survived by his loving wife... sons... daughters... brother, Dr. Glen (Faye) East of the City of Green; nephew... grandchildren... mother and father-in-law, Jayne and Grant Breckenridge of Florida; and special friend, Masoud Azodi. Funeral service will be Monday, Sept. 9, 1996, at 12 noon at the Schermesser Funeral Home, Suburban South Chapel, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Route 619), with Rev. Ronald L. Bryant officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday, 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to service. Interment at Greensburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Fairlawn 44333."
