MR. GROVES
MOUNT OLIVET - Herbert Lee "Frog" Groves, age 85, Mount Olivet, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at Meadow/Jew Regional Medical Center in Maysville. Born in Bracken County, November 6, 1921, to the late Jesse F. and Bessie Smitson Groves, he was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the Germantown Baptist Church and Brooksville Masonic Lodge No. 154 F. & A.M.
Mr. Groves worked for General Motors for 29 years. After retirement, he and his wife moved from Bracken County to their farm in Robertson County where he enjoyed farming and living the good life with his wife and beloved pets that will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joy McKenzie Groves; a sister, Beulah (Troy) Fields, Brooksville; several nieces and nephews; and too many friends to name, but some that were very special to him, the Mitchells of Piqua and last but not least, Jake Frederick of Bracken County.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter C. Groves, Lester F. Groves and Omer S. Groves.
Funeral services will be conducted noon Friday at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Thursday.
