Answering the call to preach the gospel in June of 1970, Pastor Crosby was licensed to preach by his home church, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L. C. Crawford. Recognizing the need for further preparation, he then returned to Bishop College in Dallas, Texas where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion in 1972.
After a year with General Motors Acceptance Corporation, God opened the door for Pastor Crosby to attend Colgate Rochester/Bexly Hall Crozer Theological Seminary in 1973. After three years of study on Noble Hill of Colgate in Rochester, New York, Pastor Crosby received his Master of Divinity Degree in 1976, one of only two blacks in that graduating class.
Continuing to touch lives, Pastor Crosby served as Chaplain for the Hempstead Police Department, member of the Executive Committee for the Prairie View A & M University Ministers Conference, member of the Hempstead/Prairie View Ministers Alliance, host of the talk show "Teen Talk" on KPVU 91.3 and director of the Seventh Street Community Development Corporation. He also served as lecturer for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education USA, Inc., member of Texas State Missionary Baptist Convention, member of the Ministers Against Crime – Houston Police Department and host of KTSU's talk show "The Christian Community Today." Above all, Pastor Crosby is the blessed husband of Karyn L. Crosby and proud father of Lynnethia Chevon Crosby.
