MRS. J. L. ST. PETERS - Active Frayser Civic Worker To Be Buried Tomorrow - Services for Mrs. Effie Blanche Davenport St. Peters, active civic worker and wife of J.L. St. Peters of 3035 Sunrise Road, will be held at 10 tomorrow morning at National Funeral Home. The Rev. Ira C. Cole and the Rev. Calvin Meacham will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mrs. St. Peters, who was 59, died at 3:30 yesterday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital where she had been taken Friday night. Born in Elsah, Ill., she had lived in Memphis for the past 36 years and celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary last May 9. She was well known in the Frayser community where she was a member of the Frayser Chapter 409 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Frayser Civic 51 North Improvement Club, and the Frayser Civic Club. Mrs. St. Peters was a charter member of the Shirley Park Baptist Church which was founded five years ago and had been a Sunday school teacher ever since. She taught her last class Wednesday night. She also leaves a son, Francis Robert St. Peters; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Whitaker of Frayser; a sister, Mrs. Lena Cason of Jerseyville, Ill., and four grandchildren. JERSEYVILLE, Dec. 27. (Special) Mrs. Leal Cason left Saturday for Memphis, Tenn., called by the sudden death of her sister, Mrs. Blanche St. Peters, which ocurred that day. Mrs. St. Peters was born In Jerseyville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Davenport of this city. She was 59 at the time of death. She is survived by her husband, J. L. St. Peters, Memphis, formerly of Jerseyville; two children, Francis St. Peters, and Mrs. Joseph Whitaker, both of Memphis; and one sister, Mrs. Leal Cason, Jerseyville.
