Last Rites are Held for Hardy K. Adams
Florence, S. C. , June 17, 1957

Funeral services for Hardy K. Adams 62, of Florence, who died Saturday in Savannah, were conducted at 3 p.m. today in the Waters Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin K. Medlock, pastor of Central Methodist Church officiated.

Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

A Native of McRae, Ga, Mr. Adams had been associated with the J. D. Weed Hardware Company in Savannah before moving to Florence where he had lived for the past 37 years. He was a salesman for the Massey-Hite Company for 15 years and Western Cartridge Company for 22 years.

He was a member of Central Methodist Church, Fred T. Sexton Post 1, American Legion, and a former member of Hampton LODGE 204, Ancient Free Masons. Mr. Adams was an ensign in the U. S. Navy in World War I and also saw service on the Mexican border.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hardy K. Adams of Florence; two daughters, Mrs. Thad J. Barringer of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Mrs. John R. Wellons of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Carswell and Miss Belle Adams of Pooler, Ga.; three brothers, R. H. Adams, and A. D. Adams of Pooler and J. W. Adams of Bloomingdale, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
