Rhonda S. Bowen passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

She was born October 28, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Kenneth E. and June Hunter Bowen. She attended Lee's Summit High School and the University of Missouri–Columbia.

She is survived by her mother, June Bowen, her sister, Carol Chartrand and husband Arthur, her niece and nephew, Emily and Alex Chartrand, and niece, Blair Bowen, and her Mother Stacy Drew. Her father, Kenneth E. Bowen, and her brother, Kenneth D. Bowen, preceded her in death.

Rhonda adored spending time with her nieces and nephew, always saying, "they were the wind beneath her wings" and "the light of her life".

She had a passion for animals, especially her dogs, Katie, Samantha, Webster, Murphy, Maggie, Beau, and her duck Chloe.

Rhonda loved to travel, to New England in the fall, to Europe, and to the Southwest, especially northern New Mexico, Arizona, and southern Utah. Monument Valley was one of her favorite destinations.

Rhonda spent 22 years at the Jackson County Court House as a Court Reporter and also 10 years as a freelance reporter.

A Memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Private burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
