Ed passed away on March 24, 2013 in Sherman.

Ed was born June 30, 1928 to William Albert Hayes and Ruth (Cherry) Hayes in Whitesboro. He married Billie Patsy Brown Sept. 9, 1951 in Sherman. Ed and Pat were married 61 years and he was a lifelong resident of Whitesboro and Grayson County Texas. He graduated from WHS attending North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington and served in the Army National Guard; was a member of the Whitesboro Masonic Lodge, 263 AF & AM, and a member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro from the age of 9 years. Ed and his brother, Dub, owned and operated a retail pharmacy business in Whitesboro, retiring in 1978.
