Adam William "Uncle Bill" Mahle 1812-1882

Adam William Mahle was born June 19, 1812 in Hessen, Germany to Henreich "Henry" Mahle and Anna Elizabeth (Strickenburer) Mahle. He was known as "Uncle Billy".

His ten siblings include; George Mahle, Mary Catherine Elizabeth (Mahle) Seigwath, Sophia Hettie (Mahle) Rickenbrode, Ludwig "Lewis" Mahle, Justus Mahle, Elisabeth (Mahle) Swab, Wilhelmina "Mena" (Mahle) Rickenrode, Helwig Mahle, Catherine (Mahle) Lilligh and Jacob Mahle.

He married Catherine Sigworth in about 1832 in Washington township in Clarion county, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John David Siewarth and Rosina Dorothea (Henlen) Siegwarth.

They became the parents to eight known children including; John H. Mahle, Sarah (Mahle) Alcorn, Edward R. Mahle, Rosanna (Mahle) Kropp, Levi J. Mahle, Louisa Jane (Mahle) Harper, Melinda (Mahle) Goodman and Emanuel David Mahle.

Adam passed away September 30, 1882 in Mulberry Grove, Bond county, Illinois and was laid to rest in the Dunkard Cemetery in Mulberry Grove, Bond county, Illinois.
