Mrs. Richard Edie, Jr., Dies; Victim of Heart Attack at 77
Mrs. Priscilla Van Tassel Edie, widow of former School Board President Richard Edie, Jr. died of a heart attack last Night at her home, 287 Palisade Avenue. She was seventy-seven. Her husband had been for many years a banker, president of the old Westchester Trust Company, and the Yonkers Building and Loan Association, and he had also been treasurer for 35 years of the Alexander Smith and Sons Carpet Company. He died also of a heart attack, on Sept. 21, 1935.

Mrs. Edie was born In Tarrytown, a daughter of Leander and Ella Tompkins Van Tassel, a descendant of one of the county's earliest settlers. She completed her elementary school education in Tarrytown, came to Yonkers with her parents of Church. She headed its Missionary Society for many years, until about 1937. She had served on the Yonkers Y.W.C.A. board, and was a member of the Clio Club literary group here. Surviving are three sons, Richard Edie 3rd, and Robert Van Tassel Edie both of Yonkers, and John Edie of Minneapolis; five daughters, Mrs. E. Prescott Barker and the Misses Margaret and Priscilla Edie. Robert T. Warner of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Mrs. Ralph B. Small, Jr., of Macon, Ga.; a brother, Frank S. Van Tassel of Yonkers, and 15 grandchildren. Another daughter, Ella Boyd Edie, died in 1916.
Funeral Tomorrow
Funeral services will be conduct years ago and was graduated from Yonkers High School. Mrs. Edie, who bore nine children, was active in the work of the Warburton Avenue Baptist. the Warburton Avenue Baptist Church tomorrow at 3 P.M. in the Edie home on Palisade Avenue. Burial will be In Oakland.
