Lydia Lucenda Taylor, nickname Lyda was the daughter of John Pickney Taylor and his wife Mary "Polly" Ann Pittman daughter of Nancy Britt and Samuel Elias Britt. John Pickney Taylor was the son of Lemuel Taylor, son of Henry Taylor and Jennet Cook, Lemuel Taylor's wife was Elizabeth Phillips daughter of Jordan Phillips and Hester Lee.

Lydia Lucenda Taylor married Francis Asbury Pait 24 May 1977, Wisharts Township, Robeson, North Carolina, He was the son of James Pate and Milbrey Hester.
Children are: Missouri Jane, Minnie Victoria, Wattie Durham, Dayton Asbury, Hayes Bascom and Waid Chapel Pait.

Fransis Asbury Pait died 11 June 1906.

Lydia Lucenda Taylor married the brother of Francis Asbury Pait, Marshall Pait a widower whose wife Nepsy Ivey had also died on 16 December 1909.

Lydia Lucenda Taylor is buried at the Old Pait Cemetery in Bladen County, North Carolina.
