A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, June 4, 1990, at St. John's Catholic Church, for J. Manuel Cruz, 57, of Hobbs, N.M., who passed away Friday, June 1, 1990, at the Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Texas. A Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 1990, at St. John's Catholic Church. A Franciscan priest will officiate. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery. Mr. Cruz was born April 18, 1933, in Huajuapan, Mexico, to Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Aguirre Cruz. Both parents preceded him in death. He was married in 1957 in Roswell, N.M., to Connie Neria. Mr. Cruz had been a resident of Hobbs for 23 years after moving there from Roswell. He was a television service technician and the owner of OK TV Service in Hobbs. He was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church and had coached in the little league organization in Hobbs. Survivors incude his wife, Connie Cruz of Hobbs; two sons, Pete Cruz and David Cruz, both of Hobbs; one brother, Albert Cruz of Roswell; two sisters, Maria Rojas and Tayde Aguirre, both of Mexico City, Mexico; and four grandchildren, Brandon Cruz, Valerie Cruz, Francis Cruz and Bianca Cruz, and their mother, Cissy Cruz, all of Hobbs. Pallbearers will be Andrew Domlnguez, Fidel Neria, Adam Bero, James Aguirre, David Cruz and Victor Lopez.
