BYRUM AUSTIN BOLERJACK, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born September 1, 1922 in Stroud, Oklahoma, son of Beryl A. and Thelma (Condict) Bolerjack. He departed this life Thursday, January 3, 2013 in his home in Berryville, at the age of 90 years. Austin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and served during World War II and the Korean War. After he retired from the U.S. Navy, he worked as an office manager and bookkeeper before retiring a second time to Berryville. Here he served as the director for Head Start, was a member of friends of the library and volunteered for Loaves and Fishes Food Bank of the Ozarks for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a Scout Master. Austin loved to write short stories and even novel length stories.

On September 4, 1948, Austin was united in marriage with Fannie Marie (Skinner) Bolerjack who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Thelma Bolerjack; two brothers, Kenneth and Delbert Bolerjack.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
