LELAND HARRINGTON OBITUARY
Lee Harrington, age 94, of Bellingham, passed away October 8, 2008. He was born on the Patnode family homestead located near Harlem, Idaho to Matthew and Mosa (Patnode) Harrington. He was preceded in death by his Beloved wife, Jane, of nearly 70 years; and by his parents. Leland is survived by his 3 children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Patrick and Bonnie (Rissky) Harrington of Palatine, Illinois, Denne and Diane (Postlewait) Harrington of Bellingham, and Tracy (Harrington) and James Hamm of Bellingham; grandchildren, Brian Harrington of Oakland, California, Matthew and Bic (Trinh) of Everett, Washington, Cody Harrington of Bellingham and Jamie and Christopher Hamm of Bellingham; and great grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan, Taylor and Gavin Harrington of Everett, Washington.

Lee and his beloved wife moved to Bellingham in 1946 from Spokane, Washington to be nearer to family and start their family. He worked for Union Oil and later for the Bellingham Shipyard, Bell Boy Boats and finally for United Boat Builders (Uniflite) until he retired at age 67. He was a master carpenter and the Secretary/Treasurer for the Shipwrights Union for many years. Lee not only built boats at work but built many boats at home that he and his family enjoyed over the years, boating in the San Juan's, on Lake Whatcom and many of the lakes in Eastern Washington. He was an avid fisherman, salt water, lake and stream and always trying to out fish his Beloved Jane, who usually caught more fish than Lee. Camping became another of the hobbies enjoyed by Lee and family starting from tent camping, and in later years motor homing around the country. Lee was also interested in staying physically fit by walking and riding his bike.

Lee will be missed by all his family and friends, new and old, who have had the privilege of hearing his many stories and enjoyed his wonderful smile. Dad, Grand-Dad, Great-Grand-Dad and friend you will be missed, but we all know that you are with your Beloved Jane. A graveside service will be held on Friday October 17, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA. Please join Lee's family to share memories of his life at a reception directly following burial in Moles-Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel.
